The Story:

Four years ago, when little Yabsira was only three months old, his father suddenly left the family and never returned. Since that day, their mother Abaynesh has raised both children completely alone.

A few months ago, the government demolished the old building where they lived. With no money for rent and nowhere else to go, the family moved into a small makeshift shelter made of tarpaulin sheets next to a football field. The shelter leaks when it rains, has no bathroom, no kitchen, and offers almost no protection from cold or wind.

Despite these conditions, 10-year-old Rakeb continues to attend Grade 4 and studies hard. Her biggest dream is to become a pilot so she can see the world. Her little brother Yabsira is a cheerful boy who deserves a safe and stable childhood.

A Mother Fighting Alone

Abaynesh works tirelessly to provide for her two children, but the family has almost no income. Living in a leaking shelter with no proper facilities makes daily life incredibly difficult, yet she never gives up.
