In a small home in Addis Ababa, 12-year-old Daniel Mulugeta and his 8-year-old sister Simret share more than just a roof. They share big dreams and unbreakable hope.

Daniel is a talented young footballer. On the dusty fields near his neighborhood, he plays with remarkable skill, speed, and passion. His dream is clear and powerful: to become a professional football player and one day represent his country on the world stage. Every time he steps onto the pitch, he feels alive.

His little sister Simret, only 8 years old and in Grade 2, carries a different but equally beautiful dream: to become a doctor who helps children in need. She often tells her brother that when she grows up, she wants to heal sick children, just like the ones she sees struggling in her own community.

A Mother's Daily Fight

Their mother, Tsige Tarekegn, is a single parent who fights every single day to keep her children fed, clothed, and in school. There is no steady income. Some days there is food on the table; other days, the family goes to bed hungry. Tsige works long, exhausting hours doing whatever small jobs she can find, yet the money is never enough.

Despite the hardship, Daniel and Simret remain hopeful. Their dreams are not just wishes. They are the light that keeps the entire family moving forward. Daniel trains hard whenever he can, while Simret studies with quiet determination. They believe that if they hold on to their dreams, a better future is possible.
